ETI and Daman Consulting to expand the ETI Solution® Tool Suite's support for Microsoft SQL Server

ETI and Daman Consulting to expand the ETI Solution® Tool Suite's support for Microsoft SQL Server Industry leaders to create powerful software to integrate legacy data with SQL Server

Austin, TX, April 29, 1998— ETI (Evolutionary Technologies International, Inc.) and Daman Consulting today announced a strategic partnership to further support the movement of data to and from Microsoft SQL Server with the ETI*EXTRACT Tool Suite.

Driven by customers' requests and the growing industry need to expand the use of SQL Server in the enterprise data space, Daman and ETI will build an ETI Solution Data System Library (DSL) to support the extraction, data cleansing, transformation, movement and load of SQL Server data.

ETI is a leading provider of enterprise data integration management software solutions. Daman Consulting is a premier provider of data movement, integration, and information delivery solutions.

An end-to-end solution for enabling SQL Server to join the IT enterprise data space
The corporate use of Microsoft's SQL Server is rapidly expanding. At the same time, more than seventy percent of corporate data still resides in non-relational data organizations such as IMS, VSAM, and IDMS.

"A major challenge to corporate IT organizations is how to bridge the gap between traditional data stores and Microsoft's SQL Server," said Steve Murchie, Data Warehousing Project Manager at Microsoft Corporation. "ETI*EXTRACT and its new Microsoft SQL Server Data System Library will provide customers with a seamlessly integrated solution that addresses the critical need."

Daman will work with ETI to add Microsoft SQL Server to the extensive list of data sources and targets that ETI Solution supports. The strong relationship that exists between the companies has been built on several years of working together at customer sites throughout North America and Europe.

"ETI, as a member of the Meta Data Coalition, worked with the Coalition to develop a utility to bidirectionally exchange meta data with the Microsoft Repository and products that are compliant with the Meta Data Interchange Specification," said Kay Hammer, president and CEO of ETI. "The expanded Microsoft SQL Server DSL is the next step in assisting our customers in their integration of Microsoft SQL Server into their enterprise IT infrastructure."

"With the rapidly growing acceptance of Microsoft SQL Server in the enterprise IT data structure, CIOs are asking for scaleable solutions for getting clean data into and out of SQL Server," said Sigmund Puchacz, ETI Director of Strategic Alliances. "As one of ETI's premiere third-party source providers, Daman Consulting is ideally suited to extend ETI Solution's capabilities with the SQL Server world."

"The development of the Microsoft SQL Server DSL harnesses the power and flexibility of the ETI Solution DSL architecture and brings its efficiency to bear in providing access to Microsoft SQL Server. This facilitates its integration in the enterprise data landscape," said Gita Lal, Executive Vice President of Daman. "Our close partnership with ETI, our long history and experience in deploying solutions using the ETI Solution Tool Suite, and our expertise in database technologies, particularly Microsoft SQL server, ensure a rapid and effective deployment of this product."
