Daman Consulting Launches New Enterprise Integration Practice

New Service Will Focus on "Operational Business Intelligence"

CHICAGO, IL—February 15, 2001— Daman Consulting, a pioneer in the Business Intelligence industry, today announced the launch of a new practice: Enterprise Integration. Led by CIO veteran Rob Bosch, Daman's EI group will focus on merging analytical and operational enterprise systems in virtual real-time. The raison detre of this new practice is to help corporations achieve the status of what industry insiders are calling a true Zero Latency Enterprise (ZLE).

First coined by GartnerGroup more than two years ago, the term ZLE essentially refers to an enterprise that fully leverages its information assets in real-time to capitalize on market trends and fluctuations as they occur. The value of such responsiveness spans the entire enterprise spectrum: from sales automation to vendor relations, from campaign management to customer support.

"By integrating the enterprise architecture around business intelligence, we can create a roadmap that will enable corporations to leverage all of their pertinent data in virtual real-time," says Bosch. "The key benefit here is responsiveness, enabling corporations to make their information assets operational on a day-to-day basis."

Gita Lal, President and CEO of Daman, notes that the new practice arose out of necessity. "The days of standalone Business Intelligence projects are numbered," she says. "The real need now is to integrate BI seamlessly into the operations of a company."

Lal explains that ZLE fever seems to be sweeping through corporate America of late. "We've noticed a very significant trend developing within our Fortune 1000 clients," she says. "Companies are taking their best and brightest executives and charging them with the sole responsibility of building these types of zero-latency architectures. Targeted executives are literally being pulled away from their day-to-day responsibilities and told to make such ZLE initiatives the number-one priority. More often than not, these initiatives revolve around customer intelligence."

Before joining Daman Consulting, Bosch served as Chief Information Officer for three companies: Consumer Credit Associates (an FDC subsidiary), Inmar Enterprises and NuEdge Systems. He also founded and managed a consulting practice at Sabre, working with clients such as NationsBank (now Bank of America), First Union, USWest (now Qwest), Cathay Airlines, American Airlines and others. The focus of his practice was on customer segmentation strategies, lifetime value modeling, and other solutions that "operationalized" customer intelligence
