ARCHITECT
The role of System Architect will oversee the technical design and implementation of very complex systems. These systems will be used to "close the loop" on analytical data stores with operational systems and product management. Focus will be on the use of business rule management, metadata, large data stores and integration with legacy and external systems. The Architect will also be responsible for designing and implementing distributed architectures that will perform well in various environments, including co-location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the project team, determines the architecture and technologies that will be incorporated into project deliverables. Responsible for overall system design and implementation. Ultimately responsible for all technology decisions for project deliverables.
- Leverages existing technology from previous Daman Incorporated engagements into each design. Assures improvements to this technology occur on a continuing basis to provide foundations for future projects.
- Assures that the project deliverables will operate as specified in client work order while requiring minimal ongoing operational support.
- Oversees and develops logical and physical data models for client deliverables.
- Designs and develops large-scale data base environments. Must be able to architect solutions to provide timely update of large databases and assuring high-performance across the architecture.
- Works with other Daman Incorporated team members improve the technology we deploy within client projects.
- Works with the Practice Leader to design, implement and develop methodologies for providing distributed data management solutions capable of handling transaction data on millions of consumers, combining online and offline data and scoring customers data real-time.
Qualifications:
Has an MS or greater in a technology field (or equivalent) with a background in deploying very-large database environments. In-depth understanding of data modeling and information engineering, OLAP tools, multi-dimensional cubes, relational databases, SQL, Java, Enterprise Java Beans, C++ and n-tier architectures. Familiarity with reusability strategies, capability maturity models and object development strategies is a plus. Experienced in providing database-marketing solutions on very large databases. Skilled at using creative approaches to implementation of system solutions in both the OLTP and OLAP environments. Needs to possess strong interpersonal skills with experience in managing exceptional developers and challenging clients. Excellent technical, organizational and problem-solving skills are a necessity. Must be proficient functioning in a team-based organization.

DECISION SUPPORT ANALYST
A Decision Support Analyst is an expert in retrieving, and subsequently presenting, corporate information for the purpose of decision support and analysis. The analyst produces the results through a mastery of techniques and business intelligence tools that range from simple queries to various forms of multidimensional analysis. The value of the DSS analyst comes from his/her ability to understand the business information needs and then navigate those needs to the appropriate data. The DSS analyst works with the Acquisition Engineer to help identify the appropriate sources for the information and with the Data Designer to optimize the design for availability, flexibility, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Identify, by working with the business, the necessary sources of information that must be available for decision support.
- Act as a liaison betweent the business community and the Data Warehouse team. This includes translating, through interviews and detailed documentation, the appropriate business needs to the Data Warehouse team.
- Create Decision Support Systems with DSS tools provided by vendors, such as Brio, MicroStrategy, Cognos and Business Objects that provide an immediate return on investment for clients.
Requirements
- A Bachelors degree is the minimum education needed, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a data processing or business programming professional in one of the following areas: Banking, Insurance, Finance, Human Resources, or Manufacturing. Experience as a DSS Analyst is preferred. Expertise with at least one of the following DSS tools: Cognos, Essbase, Brio, MicroStrategy or Business Objects.
- Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must have good understanding of basic Data Warehouse methodology and best practices.
- Ability to travel weekly to client sites is expected.

DATA WAREHOUSE DESIGNER
The Data Warehouse Designer structures data for optimal access, performance and integration. This role is responsible for building new data sets and data structures as required to support business needs, and for managing the distribution, replication, and archival of data throughout the enterprise. The designer must manage the balance of current and future needs in both design and content. This role requires a rare blend of skills normally found in the specialized roles of Business Analyst, Data Modeler, and Database Analyst.
Responsibilities
- Work with the sales team on sales support activities such as assessing projects and developing proposals
- Assist with defining project scope, developing work plans, and estimating project requirements (time, resources and pricing)
- Architect, design, and develop data warehouse solutions, includes evaluation and selection of tools and technologies to use
- Providing direct project management for specific Daman assignments, includes providing leadership and direction
Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree is the minimum education needed.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in development of data warehouse, decision support, or executive information systems. Related experience in relevant application software development may be considered
- Must have experience in development of process / data models or functional expertise in one of the following areas: Banking, Insurance, Finance, Human Resources, or Manufacturing
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate interaction between client's management / user community and Daman's technical team
- Must have specific experience in at least one of the following DBMS environments: Oracle/UNIX & NT, MS SQL Server/NT, Sybase/UNIX and/or Sybase IQ/UNIX, Informix/UNIX, DB2/UNIX (UDB).
- Must have good understanding of Dimensional Modeling and ER-Modeling
- A knowledge of cubes, ROLAP, MOLAP and HOLAP is a definite plus.

SENIOR INTEGRATION CONSULTANT
The role of the consultant is to deliver client systems on time and on budget. This critical position will actively work with the Manager, Architect and Client personnel to facilitate the timely and effective delivery of items outlined in the statement of work between Daman Incorporated and the Client. The consultant is responsible for determining the detailed technical requirements, creating written and system deliverables for the Client, and assuring deliverables meet the Client business needs.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of the project team to determine what the business drivers are for potential projects, develop effective plans and technical specifications to satisfy these needs through Daman Incorporated projects.
- In conjunction with the Architect, determine the appropriate tasks that must be executed in order to fulfill the project deliverables. Responsible for completing the tasks on time and within budget parameters
- Maintains high levels of skills in Enterprise Integration technologies to support Client projects. Provides subject matter expertise to Clients on fulfilling technical aspects of projects. Mentors and leads client personnel to complete knowledge transfer to the Client during the engagement.
- Follows project implementation methodologies to assure client deliverables can be met consistently and accurately across projects
- Works with other Daman Incorporated personnel to continually improve the Enterprise Integration practice.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and strong work ethic.
Requirements
- Has an MS (or equivalent) with a background in CRM integration and system development involving the deployment of very large database environments and complex systems.
- Must possess in-depth understanding of both OLAP and OLTP solutions with proficiency in some or all of the following technologies: Java, JSP, EJB, ASP, COM, DCOM, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB/2, MQSeries, MSMQ, Websphere, Microsoft Commerce Server.

ETL TOOLS SPECIALIST (Ab Initio, Ascential, Informatica and/ or ETI)
An ETL Tools Specialist fully administers the transfer of information from one system to another either in a batch or continuous manner. The role involves the mapping of data from the source systems, restructuring and redefining it as necessary to clarify and maximize its information content, then integrating the data into a cross-functional view and populating target systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle Financials, data warehouses etc. This person has a thorough understanding of the entire process revolving around conversion and migration from system to system and full administration of any and all techniques involving developing infrastructures for industry leading ETL tools such as those from AbInitio, Ascential, Informatica and / or ETI.
Responsibilities
- Configure and customize the ETL tool for client installations.
- Expected to utilize ETL tool for data management, conversion, migration and integration.
- Evaluate and assess client requirements and deliver proper technical solutions within the context of client needs.
- Involved with problem solving, developing design specifications and providing system solutions at an administrative level.
Requirements
- Advanced training and experience with one of the above specified ETL tool suites is essential.
- Must have strong core technical competency in database and multi-tier technologies and an understanding of and experience with data extraction from legacy systems. Understanding of data warehouse modeling concepts a plus.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS concepts: good conceptual understanding of data structures and basic algorithms (e.g. Stacks, sorting, queues)
- Must have experience writing & deploying stored procedures, tuning SQL scripts/queries and using database monitoring facilities
- Specific experience in at least two of the following DBMS environments: Oracle/UNIX & NT, MS SQL Server/NT, Sybase/UNIX and/or Sybase IQ/UNIX, Informix/UNIX, DB2/UNIX (UDB), Teradata, Netezza.

DATA WAREHOUSING PRINCIPAL
A Principal is an expert at Data Warehouse Consulting who can become active in leading many assignments as a technical Guru. He or she is not a Project Manager, but more a hands-on expert who stays on the project as a senior data warehousing resource. The person must be focused on delivering value while presenting synergy. The Principal is an expert at understanding how data warehouses work and relate to each other. The individual will also be aiding the sales force as a pre-sales asset. We are not interested in people who are only managers. All Principals must be able to do the actual work themselves.
Required Experience
- A Principal must be experienced as a DSS Analyst, Data Designer and Acquisition Engineer.
- The Principal must understand Data Warehouse Design more than anything else, since he or she will be spending a majority of their time in this area.
- Must have experience is two or more of the following DBMS: Oracle, DB2, DB2 UDB, Informix, Sybase, and SQL Server.
- Must have experience with two or more of the following middleware products: Cognos, Business Objects, Brio, Essbase, Oracle Discoverer and Oracle Express Objects.
- Prefer an individual that has experience using data migration tools, like Informatica or ETIExtract.
- A business background from diverse industries is a must for essential pre-sales activities.
- Team lead experience is an added plus.
- A Principal should be experienced in implementing business intelligence solutions in many different markets as well.
- A Bachelors Degree is the minimum education needed. A Master's in Computer Science or Business is preferred.

OLAP SPECIALIST
An OLAP Specialist is an expert in multi-dimensional modeling and analytical application design. The specialist is responsible for leading the development of enterprise-wide systems, which may include the development of dimensional models, logistics planning, and end-user analysis design.
Responsibilities
- Gather functional requirements for analytical applications and translate to technical specifications.
- Act as a liaison between the business community and the Data Warehouse team.
- Design OLAP cubes with tools such as Hyperion Essbase, DB2 OLAP, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, or Cognos Powerplay.
- Incorporate sophisticated calculations using MDX, MDL, or Calc Scripts
- Recommend and implement appropriate partitioning, processing, storage, and security methods.
Required Experience
- A Bachelors Degree is the minimum education needed, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Candidates should be proficient in OLAP development with at least 2 years of consistent experience using Hyperion Essbase, DB2 OLAP, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, or Cognos Powerplay.
- Solid business skills in areas such as financial, demand, and capacity planning, or sales and marketing analysis, are important.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in data processing or business programming as a professional in one of the following areas is preferred: Banking, Energy, Insurance, Finance, Human Resources, or Manufacturing.
- Familiarity with AlphaBlox, Arcplan, Brio, Business Objects, Hyperion Analyzer, or ProClarity is a plus.
- A candidate must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
